On Saturday a team of stylists from our Manchester salon descended on the Runway Visitors Park at Manchester Airport to take part in a unique charity event to raise money for Maggie’s. This fantastic organisation has centres across the country to support cancer sufferers and their families. The newest centre was opened at the end of April by the Duchess of Cornwall in Manchester, making the area the perfect place to hold this fundraising event.
Entitled ‘Maggie’s on the runway’, the event took place in the stunning concorde hanger (underneath an actual BA concorde!) and included a runway show with 50 models, many of whom were currently living with, or after, cancer. There was also a black tie dinner, and evening entertainment from Rick Astley. Trevor was on hand to support the event by speaking on stage about his experiences of working with women who had suffered with cancer, and the work his charity mynewhair does.
The salon team started in the early hours of the morning to make sure all 50 models were styled ready for their catwalk debut. It was a busy, exciting, and extremely inspirational day for everyone involved.
