On Monday 24th April our Art Team took to the stage at Pro Hair Live 2016 to showcase new techniques and skills to an audience of hairdressing experts. Held at Kensington Olympia their was a huge turnout of hairdressers’ and industry experts who spent the day browsing the exhibition space and watching live shows on the various stages at the venue.
Our Art Team members (Tom Connell, Mai Ha and John Spanton) presented 4 models all using radically different techniques. Manchester Artistic Director Mai is a long hair specialist, and created a beautiful, intricate design simply using white elastic and our Salon X-Clusive Prep Spray:
Assistant Artistic Director Tom presented a hair cut live on stage, creating a highly textured style. Tom has been working on this style for a few months after meeting a shop assistant who cut her hair herself, and inspired him to recreate her effortless, soft style. Using just a razor Tom shaped the hair, coupling harsh edges with softer wisps of hair to keep the look pretty and feminine:
Technical Education Director John presented two different looks – an ornate style using coloured dots to build up a decorative pattern, and using two different shades to create a chequerboard effect:
The four inspirational styles were then showcased on a catwalk and backstage:
