At a luncheon yesterday, held at Clarence House, the Duchess of Cornwall announced a new initiative aimed at supporting victims of rape and sexual assault. Launched in association with ‘The Havens’, specialists centres for people who have been raped or assualted. The first Haven was opened in 2000 and to date they have helped over 20,000 people.
Trevor Sorbie are contributing to this scheme by donating products to go into a pilot scheme where victims are given a ‘feel good’ bag when they go to the Haven Centre to give evidence about the crime. After speaking to victims, the Duchess of Cornwall was moved to put the scheme together, and hopes that it will roll out nationwide soon.
The kits will be sent out initially to the centres in the South East as this is a pilot scheme. They are in Camberwell, Paddington and Whitechapel in London.
