Nicola Salon Manager/Creative Stylist/Senior Technician

Nicola was inspired to become a hairdresser by visiting the salon every weekend with her nana. She has come far since then, winning the Regional Final of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy (and placing third overall) and becoming Salon Manager. Nicola says she is proud to be a hairdresser everyday, and her favourite part of her job is “working with people”. Her style icon is Victoria Beckham, as she “always looks amazing and makes the best of herself”.

Mai Creative Director

North West British Hairdresser of the Year finalist Mai Ha is a unique talent. A regional winner at the L’Oréal Colour Trophy, Mai’s work is well known throughout the industry. Her favourite part of being a Trevor Sorbie stylist is furthering her training, and “having a fun and relaxing environment to work in with great people”. Mia’s ambition for the future is to win a British Hairdressing Award, and her top career advice is “always push yourself”.

Paul is passionate about teaching, and considers becoming Head of Education for the salon his greatest hairdressing achievement. His favourite part of his role is “seeing the transition of a person from when they start, to when they finish their training”, and he feel proudest whenever one of his students passes their final test. His best piece of career advice is “go for it – live your dreams”, and he hopes to continue to inspire both the salon team and his clients with this philosophy.

Vince Director

Vince is well known for being a stylist to the stars, and is proud to have worked with some “incredibly talented artists and legends”. Inspired into a career in hair by fashion, Vince’s favourite part of his job is “the creative and the conversation” – he loves getting to meet people from all walks of life. The last time he felt starstruck was the first time he worked with Jane Russell, “we shared some very interesting conversations!”

Kitty Senior Top Stylist

Kitty loves “being with my awesome clients all day”, and expressing her artistic side through hairdressing. Her proudest moment as a stylist was helping one of her youngest client’s donate her hair to charity, and her hopes for the future are to continue enjoying her work, and making her clients happy. Kitty’s favourite hair trend is the one-length bob, and her most treasured possession is “my beautiful baby dog”.

Liam was drawn to hairdressing for the freedom of expression, and enjoys working at the salon as there are people who “I know will push and inspire me”. He loves receiving positive feedback from his clients, but his proudest moment was recently when a client cried with happiness after he restyled her hair for the first time since she had lost it to cancer. The best advice Liam has ever received is “to always care”, and his favourite iconic hairstyle is the pixie crop…”embrace short hair girls!”

Oli began his hairdressing career at a young age by cutting his pet cat’s hair! He has come far since then, and counts one of his greatest hairdressing achievements as “cutting the perfect one-length style”. The highlight of his job is “having fun and great chats with clients”, and he came to work at Trevor Sorbie because “I want to be the best”.

Serena Creative Stylist/Senior Technician

Serena decided on a career in hairdressing after experimenting on her own hair as a child. She loves making people feel good, and believes that “you never stop learning”. Her greatest career achievement so far was passing her final test in both cutting and colouring, and her favourite product is mousse as it’s “suitable for all hair types and easy to work with”.

Cat loves art, and feels that good hairdressing should be like creating a piece of art. Her greatest career achievement is continuing to “make people happy”, and her proudest moments have been helping style client’s hair after they’ve grown it back following chemotherapy. Big curly hair is Cat’s favourite trend, and her hidden talent is being extremely double-jointed! The best career advice she’s ever received is simply just to “listen”.

Jude loves working at “the best hair salon in Manchester”, and counts spending time with her clients as her favourite part of her job. She feels proudest whenever a client tells her how much they love their hair, and her hopes for the future are to “keep working hard at Trevor Sorbie”. Jude’s favourite ever hair trend is the choppy bob (think Meg Ryan) and her hidden talent is that she can do a back flip!

Originally from Belfast, Jamie loves creating hairstyle that will give her clients confidence. A finalist at the L’Oréal Colour Trophy, her hopes for the future are ‘endless happiness’ and her favourite career advice is “be yourself, and be original”. The iconic hairstyle she loves the most is the bob, as it will never be outdated, and her hidden talent is being able to spell the alphabet backwards. Her earliest memory is being given a ‘micro-fringe’ by her mum which she was mocked for at the time, however this style is back in style “so who’s laughing now!”

Emma joined Trevor Sorbie as she wanted to “work for the best”, and is both a stylist and technician in the salon. Her favourite part of her job is making her clients look and feel great, and her favourite iconic style is the one-length bob because it is “so simple but effective, and is still on trend today”. Her greatest hairdressing achievement so far was being named a finalist for L’Oréal’s Star Award, and the best career advice she’s ever received is “don’t stay in your comfort zone – always push yourself to develop”.

Lily always knew that she wanted to be a hairdresser. Her favourite part of her job is doing complete colour transformations, and she feels proud to be a technician “everyday when I see somebody fall back in love with their hair – it makes me so happy”. The best advice she’s ever received is to “just believe in myself”, and her favourite trend is balayage for it’s versatility, a trend that she loves so much her hopes for the future are to “make the world a better place…one balayage at a time!”

She has been a finalist for the L’Oréal Colour Trophy, which she describes as both her greatest achievement and proudest moment in her career. Her favourite part of her job is “the people”, and she says the best career advice she ever received was “to join Trevor Sorbie”. Her style icon is Kate Moss as she is “effortlessly cool”, and her favourite trend is 70s hair.

Elena’s greatest hairdressing achievement to date was working alongside some amazing designers at London Fashion Week. Her favourite part of being a technician is meeting new people and being creative with colour, and the best career advice she’s ever received is “have fun, and always be passionate about your work”. The last time Elena was starstruck was meeting Kate Moss, who is her favourite style icon, and the hairstyle she’d most like to see make a comeback is Brigitte Bardot’s rock and roll look.
